Even though the P&H Motorcycles/ Carl Cox Motorsport team still has 3 rounds of the 2016 Ducati Tri-Options Cup to go after their most recent meeting at the legendary Assen circuit, our teams based across Australia and New Zealand are already gearing up for multiple championship campaigns that will run from this October through till March next year.
The first of these got under way for the inaugural round of the Carl Cox Motorsport Hyosung Cup- This event has already developed into one of the most enticing development classes in the country, attracting full start grids and a wide range of entrants wishing to compete in this extremely cost-effective racing.
Ages of riders ranged from 14 thru 63 years young, and consisted of established riders and newcomers who have never ridden competitively, all on board production Hyosung 250cc machinery- this showcases the riders individual ability as all the bikes are the same spec!
The next round of the Carl Cox Motorsport Hyosung Cup at the Hampton Downs circuit is scheduled for Nov 6th :)
Next up on the October calendar is the Shorai International, October 22/23rd - also held at Hampton Downs in N.Z, this event invites riders from Australia for some 'friendly trans-Tasman' rivalry across all manner of post-classic/historic machinery.
Our very own Dean Oughtred #88 from Melbourne will be making the trek across to N.Z to compete in a total of THREE classes over the weekend against the Kiwis- he'll be riding the Coxy '89 Suzuki GSXR1100, a beautifully presented '81 Suzuki GSX1100, and the iconic Period 4(Pre 72) Honda CR750 that always attracts big crowd in Australia. It is the first time this bike has ever been seen (OR HEARD) on the NZ circuits!
