We're heading into a very busy few weeks with multiple motorcycle meetings being held on both sides of the Tasman, for both solos and sidecars- and we're excited there's so much great racing ahead of the teams over the next couple of weekends!
First up we have the sidecar pairing of Colin/Robbie as they head to the farthest city in the South Island of New Zealand for the 2nd round of the NZ national championship this coming weekend- the boys had a brilliant first outing last weekend in Christchurch and are looking forward to the first time the NZ Superbike paddock has returned to the Teratonga raceway for a few years. With 3 races over 2 days there are good points up for grabs for all the teams that make the journey to Invercargill...(the home of the legendary Burt Munro)
The following weekend not only has the sidecar team continue their challenge at round 3 (this time in Timaru at the Levels circuit) for a further 3 race meeting , but also Australian post-classic champion Dean Oughtred #88 is joined by MCN 's very own Michael Neeves #33, who is travelling from the UK to ride the incredible Phillip Island Classic for his second year.
Last year Dean rode brilliantly to win the Period 4 unlimited class(Pre 1972) trophy on board the immaculate Honda CR750, and Neevsey finished 3rd overall in the Period 6 unlimited(Pre 1989) for his first time at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit riding a GSXR1100.
This year Dean will be running the CR again in the P4 class, but this time round the P6 grid will be getting a shake up as BOTH Neevsey and Deano line up on identical GSXR1100 machines against the combined teams of some of the best riders in the world in teams from the UK,USA,Australia,NZ,and for the first time,a team from Ireland!
